The Solution

Frank LaFauci, CPA

Over 30 years of Corporate and
Entrepreneurial Success

There are three distinct ways you can save both time and money when faced with installing a new system while making sure the process goes smoothly and according to plan.

The first way (Situation 1):

If you have not selected your software or your vendor/reseller yet, hire Frank LaFauci to help you make those important choices.

Frank has installed hundreds of systems, but as he says, “I am not affiliated with any products or service providers. Rather, I use my experience and expertise to help my clients make the right choices and help them through successful implementations however I can.” In addition, Frank can often help his clients receive preferential pricing for their projects by passing on any discounts, finders fees or referral fees that might be offered to him.

“My only obligation is to my clients.” Once the key decisions are made and the product(s) and vendor(s) are selected, Frank can further help by assisting with the project in accordance with “Situation 2.”

The second way (Situation 2):

If your project is already underway and you are experiencing challenges with the implementation, speak to Frank about the specifics.

There are countless stories about installations that did not go right, went over budget, or took forever to complete. The reason for this is almost always due to a “critical manpower shortage.” Many critical tasks needed for the installation become the responsibility of the “point persons” at the client’s site. These people are often overwhelmed by their own demanding jobs plus everything needed for the installation, and as a result, target dates and deadlines are missed, negatively impacting the timely success of the project. When a project gets delayed, it sets off a stream of negative events that derail everyone’s good intentions.

The third way:

Consider moving to the cloud using a company that specializes in Accounting Software platforms such as SwizzNet.  If your company uses Sage Software or QuickBooks, SwizzNet will be a perfect fit. They specialize in cloud technologies, and they are extremely knowledgeable with the Sage and QuickBooks product offerings.  And, like Frank, they are obsessed with customer support!

“I know all this because I’m the owner of Positive Impact Corporation, and I’ve installed hundreds of systems like these – until I sold my client base back in 2006.  At the time we were the largest company of its kind in Connecticut. These days, I do not sell software.  Rather, I focus on being the ideal point-person for companies that need the service.  As a CPA, and a former CFO, I can help with both the accounting functions AND the system setup processes.  It is my responsibility to manage the daunting task of keeping major, disruptive projects moving forward, such as an implementation of a new accounting software program.  I always view my role as a “roll-up-your-sleeves” endeavor.  My goals include keeping the project on track, streamlining the accounting processes, and making people’s lives better.” – Frank LaFauci

Here’s an example
As an example of how I could help with an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, consider the task of setting up a new General Ledger chart of accounts. The chart of accounts is like the foundation of a tall building. It is often the responsibility of the client to design it and set it up. It is also often the client’s responsibility to enter the new chart of accounts into the system or perhaps into a spreadsheet to be imported into the new system. Or maybe the plan is to export the chart from the old system. The point-person may or may not have training in this critical area. Perhaps he or she watched a video on how to design the new chart of accounts. But this person will not fully understand the nuances that will optimize the report-writing capabilities of the new system. So, is it better to have a point-person design and set up a chart of accounts, who may have never done this before, or have it done by someone who has done it hundreds of times? And wouldn’t it be wise to assign an expert to make sure everything goes right with a critical, high exposure activity such as installing a new accounting software system? Frank can be the sole point-person for the project, removing the stress and responsibility from others at the company who are too busy to manage that role. As a CPA, he understands the reporting needs of the accounting department and he can make sure the results will include the most effective financial statements and reports attainable. Frank is often asked by senior management to write customized reports that enhance the use of the new system.

Testimonials

Joseph Bonis, Executive Vice President, CFO & COO, O'Sullivan Communications, West Caldwell, NJ

We engaged Frank LaFauci in 2019 to assist with the installation of Sage Software’s Job Cost system to replace a custom-programmed Job Cost system. Frank worked with our staff and our reseller to bridge gaps and make the installation a success. Initially, we expected to have Frank on board for just 4-6 weeks, but we retained him for a year and a half as he was adding value in various areas of our operation, including reporting and user training. He also helped with our month-end accounting closes – which included his preparing journal entries. Frank did not need explanations; he just did what was needed. I recommend Frank to anyone needing software installation help and/or high-level accounting assistance.

Dan Calandro, CFO, Smokey Mountain Chew

I enjoyed working with Frank LaFauci, who assisted me when we were improving our processes and procedures at Smokey Mountain Chew. Together we developed new ways of capturing our manufacturing and accounting data, and I now receive better, more expedient management information. Our profit margins improved, and I have total control over our manufacturing processes as a result.

I’m happy I chose Frank LaFauci to help me improve the operations of PEC. Frank always came up with great ideas and helped me set up our new system and streamline our work flows. In addition to getting better information, I was able to leave work earlier as a result of Frank’s efforts.

Joe Davies, Managing Partner, Liberty Cedar, SC and RI

I worked with Frank LaFauci in 2004 and 2005 during a critical ERP system replacement we were undergoing. At a very critical time in our process, just before we were going live with the new system, my staff urged me to abort the process and defer it to a later date. I discussed this in depth with Frank, and he convinced me to stay the course and proceed with the scheduled update, citing that the staffs’ confidence would be no better the following month, and that it would be more cost effective to proceed now. This was the right decision as I agreed to stay the course and the upgrade was successful, saving us substantial time and money, not to mention the uncertainties we avoided.
